Bad Passenger Behaviour Disrupts Air Travel

Travel by aeroplane can be a wonderful thing. Improved airports and aeroplane technologies can make for an enjoyable experience for any of us travelling the skies.  Generally airport and aeroplane staff workers are polite, cheerful, and happy to help with any of our flight needs.  This is all well and good but there is something about our journeys we cannot predict, and I do not mean flight delays or weather conditions.  It is our fellow passengers!

At Gatwick Airport recently a Thomas Cook plane heading from Glasgow to Turkey had to make an emergency landing there when a trio of on board passengers became drunk and very rowdy which resulted in police action dealing with the trouble makers who were involved in heated arguments aboard the flight.  One man was arrested.  This no doubt frustrated holiday makers looking forwards to the turkish sun and considerably marred their flight experience.

In similarnews there was trouble on another Thomas Cook flight to Turkey when 4 men were refused entry to the country and were arrested under the Civil Aviation Act of 1982.  It is unclear why they were refused entry but after being forced to fly back to Britain they allegedly threatened to blow up the plane to the horror of passengers and crew on board.  This turned out to be a hoax on their part but of course it had to be taken seriously and their aggressive behaviour put passengers at risk.  The plane made an unscheduled stop at Gatwick and Scotland Yard took over the incident.

Over at East Midlands Airport a man has been given a life time ban from the airport after he allegedly exposed himself to crew on the jet2.com flight.  The man from Lincolnshire was headed to Majorca when the incident happened.  The CEO of Jet2holidays defended the rights of its passengers who deserve a “friendly and relaxing flight experience” and condemned the actions of the man which he called “disgusting”.

We deserve to fly safely and comfortably so it is a shame that the behaviour of the few can disrupt our experiences.  Any aggressive or suspicious behaviour must always be reported to airport staff.  We must also keep a check on our own behaviour and be considerate to those around us.  Important reminders to ensure that our flight will be a safe and peaceful one.
