This added method is one level of competition beyond that of their rivals Ryanair, who are constantly pushing their customers to use the Ryanair app in order to make purchases and comment on how the airline is doing. Easyjet does have an app as well, but with the simple addition of apple pay, they have directed their customers to their app without needing to add any additional marketing. Genius when you think about it.
Apple users are often more likely than most to use their phones or their iPads for almost anything, as more functions from a laptop or desktop become available on their phones and iPads. Giving them more payment options is an excellent way to keep those customers with you, as this demonstrates a willingness to modernize and adapt to the future.
With some of the losses Easy jet has suffered with Brexit affecting the pound, and customer confidence not being where it should, Easyjet is feeling the pinch. Though they are from struggling, they are concerned about their quarterly drops, and hope to see it reverse as the numbers for spring bookings begin to show a change.
