London Bound Easy Jet Flight Struck By Lightning

 

 

An EasyJet flight was hit by lightning en route from Edinburgh to London Stansted.

The aircraft safely landed in London with the airline saying there were no reported injuries and the safety of the flight EZY238 flight was not compromised.

The airline further assured that their aircrafts are capable of withstanding lightning strikes.

The EZY23 return flight to Edinburgh was delayed as engineers ascertained that the aircraft was in proper condition.

The flight was scheduled to leave at 7:30pm but departed at 10:00pm on Wednesday, arriving in the Scottish Capital at around 11:00pm.

An EasyJet spokesman said: “EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY239 from London Stansted to Edinburgh was delayed due to the aircraft being hit by lightning on its previous sector.

“The aircraft is equipped to safely withstand lightning and at no point was the safety of the flight compromised. In line with our procedures, engineers undertook inspections following the aircraft landing.

“We would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience. EasyJet operates it fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all regulations. The safety of its passengers and crew is the airline's highest priority.”

In other news, a taxi driver was stabbed multiple times in Harrow on 4 March, Sunday Morning.

A Harrow Police spokesman said: “At 5.30am a taxi driver was stabbed multiple times in Harrow town centre during an attempted robbery. His injuries have been confirmed as non-life threatening.”
