Heatrow Hub to go on show at public meeting.

Heathrow is planning to go on show at public meetings in the New Year. The meetings will highlight the expansion plans at the airport. These plans include the extension of the northern runway to over four miles. Those supporting this say that this will be advantageous as it will reduce noise significantly. According to the airport, this is one of the three proposals that have been considered by the airport.

The Heathrow hub concept is led by Captain William Lowe who is the longest serving pilot at Heathrow. William said, “Our independent proposal to extend the northern runway provides numerous advantages for the local community and we believe this makes our plan the most compelling choice for both those who live near Heathrow and the whole of the UK. Our proposal requires less land and means protecting the local communities. Our plan will also mean early morning landings are shifted 2.5 miles to the west, reducing noise over West London”.

The runway will be divided into two sections with a 650 metre buffer zone in between them. This will enable the planes to land and take off easily. A tunnel beneath the runway at M25 may be rerouted. This, architects say, will widen the road and reduce the issues of traffic flows. They also say that a third runway will be significant. This would be completed by the year 2023 and would allow compensation for the affected people.

Over the past week, the newspapers have shown the artists’ impressions who’ll be going on show at the public meetings in the New Year. Mr Lowe said that the local community exhibitions will start from January 2015 in the villages that surround Heathrow. They will provide the residents with important details on their proposal. They will also discuss about the impact this proposal would have on them.
