The International Airlines Group (IAG) has signed a new long term distribution deal with Sabre Cooperation, a global technology service provider in global travel and tourism industry. This will incorporate The British Airways Iberia, Iberia Express and Vueling.

In this agreement, British Airways, Iberia and Iberia Express will market their airfares and ancillaries via the Sabre Corporation global travel marketplace. This agreement will also include Vueling, a European premium carrier, which is joining Sabre’s marketplace for the first time.

The agreement also provides that, for the travel agencies, there will be same, continued access to British Airways, Iberia and Iberia Express’ fares, schedule, availability, and services such as seats and bags. The agents will also be able to shop and book Vueling fares.

Greg Webb, who is the President at Sabre Travel Network, said that IAG has been a very important partner for a long time and they were pleased to introduce Vueling to Sabre. He also indicated that Europe was a key region for its growth and therefore they would put much focus on the needs of airline and agencies in the region.

IAG’s Head of Commercial Planning and Policy, Silvia Cairo, said that the IAG was fully committed to supporting the travel agency channel and they were pleased with the long term agreement signed with Sabre which will help them work more closely with their subscribers for the coming years.

Sabre travel marketplace helps facilitate marketing and selling of airfares, rental cars, hotel rooms, rail tickets together with other types of travel to agents who are currently over 400,000. Thousands of corporations also use it to shop, book and also manage travel. It processes more than $100 billion in a travel spend and it is one of the largest marketplaces in the world.
