It Is Jubilee Celebrations For The Night Tube
30 - Aug - 2016

It’s Jubilee Celebrations for the Night Tube

It has been recently announced that the Jubilee line will be the third tube line to start running overnight. With the overwhelming success of the initial services, with the Victoria line and the Central line, TFL has ok’d going forward with making all of the underground lines available at the weekend for 24 hours by the end of the year.

The Jubilee line will start October 7, and is expected to be fairly popular as it serves the Canary Wharf area, O2, Wembley Stadium, and Westfield. With the bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues, it is expected to be one of the more popular lines. Employers and venues hail it as a game changer as their employees will be able to get to and from work more easily, and those having a night out, will find it easier to get home. When the night tube launched last weekend, over 100,000 people used it to get home or to and from work.

With the numbers already showing a boost to London’s economy, with a 14% footfall increase at Oxford Street and 16% in the West End, employers around Canary Wharf are looking forward to a similar boost. For venues like O2, it will increase the number of fans able to get there, as well as the tech, media and banking running around the clock, it makes sense that they have a transit system that runs 24 hours as well.

With London being a 24-hour city, it makes sense that their transit system should run 24 hours as well.
