Good news for those of you worried about the British Sterling slump. According to data, European resorts are reducing prices in order to keep their British customers coming.
Although the pound has experienced a slump in the market, in Europe, the pound is as strong as ever, with rates being as strong as since 2011. This coupled with the average discount of 10%; British holidaymakers have no need to worry whether or not their pounds will stretch to cover the cost of their holidays.
On average, most resorts have gone up in price since 2014, with the exception of Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, Algarve, and Costa Del Sol. With the data across the prices for a bottle of beer, a three-course meal, and a cup of coffee have of course gone up, but the value of the Pound is still very strong. Last summer’s 1.44 for every Euro dollar was an anomaly. Holiday’s last year may have been an exceptionally good value.
Looking to this summer’s holidays, although the pound is not as strong as last summer, with the current market, it is definitely robust. The average British citizen should be able to have the holiday they anticipated, despite all of the upheaval, within British politics.
So, get yourselves out there, and holiday as much as you’d like! It is British summer after all, the best time in the world to get away for a few weeks with friends and family and return to work and school refreshed for the upcoming year!
