Easy Jet gets set to add over 250,000 more seats this summer from Belfast Airport and it has resulted in 115 new jobs for them. Also, Ryan Air is set to add 40 additional routes which will see the airport reap more benefits and a huge surge in growth is expected as a result.
With the continued business growth, the airport still has plans for expansion which will increase its bottom line as well as encourage and stimulate more growth in the area’s economy.
When Ryanair initially announced they would be adding flights to the Belfast Airport, many were relieved and encouraged, as it had been considered a less desirable airport, but since adding the additional seats, the airport has experienced nothing but continued and steady growth and profits.
Airport spokespeople have said they are growing, making improvements, and expanding before they know what kind of funding they will receive from Northern Ireland’s development fund. They are excited and looking forward to the results as they say this has been many years in the making.
The airport officials continue to work with Easyjet and Ryanair to increase the number of international flights to and from the region and they would love to see tourism to Northern Ireland continue to grow.
These are exciting times for the area with the 1.6 million pounds in total salaries that will help stimulate economic growth for the area. It looks as if Belfast airport is well on its way to becoming as big as Dublin, for those passengers that want to fly to and from Northern Ireland.
