Tottenhem Court Road Station is set to reopen after what seemed to be an endless renovation and the consensus is that it is just in time. As the holidays approach and more people are out and about, the brand new Tottenhem Court Underground Station is one of the stations that should be included on a visit to London.
The new station has a stunning new 15-Metre glass entrance. It’s a beautiful masterpiece and it’s just a small part of the station’s reopening. The station will be open fully on Monday 7 December, and all the customers who have been inconvenienced for so long, will finally be able to exit at Totttenham again.
According to London Transport, they are putting the finishing touches on the station, and the new renovations include a wider ticketing area, more escalators and new access to the Northern and Central line platforms to help reduce congestion. They are also in the last stages of restoring the mosaics that were created by Eduardo Paolozzi and have added new works from London’s growing art scene to compliment his original mosaics.
London Transport is very happy with the station’s updates, and if you do happen to be in the area or coming to visit London this holiday, makes some time to come see the beautiful new station.
One Londoner said, “Thank goodness, no more Holborn street! After a year of being closed, those of us that take the Central Line and get off at other stations, this will be a refreshing change! And the best part is it has happened before the Christmas Holiday! “
