London City Airport has recently been awarded the RAF Northolt’s Premier Passenger Service for the next five years, commencing on 1, January 2016. The service will continue the services currently offered at the airport as LCY has direct access to London’s West End.
The service will offer catering and limousine travel as well as full aviation services and support. Northolt Aerodrome is the closest to London’s West End with Kensington only ten miles away with direct access to Knightsbridge, Mayfair, and Piccadilly being only 30 minutes away by road.
LCY currently provides service in East London, being only 4 miles from Canary Wharf, & miles from The City and 9 miles from Mayfair. They already provide full customer and aircraft support and can have their clients from plane to car in as little as 90 seconds. They look forward to being able to offer the same services to their West End counterparts.
London City Airport is very popular with the business world, due to its location closest to London’s city centre. For business customers this is the best option. Most of the big bank and finance offices are in the City, as well as many of London’s wealthier residents. This change will make it ever more convenient for them as they will no longer have the issue of the long drive/commute from London’s Heathrow airport.
