Terravision Denied Access to Stansted Airport

Terravision, an Airport transfer company has recently lost their right to access at Stansted airport.  They lost their privileges over a dispute about tender processes. The bus line reportedly did not notify its customers of the change, and dropped them off at Bishops Stortfort that is 5 miles from Stansted airport.

The company has been ferrying customers to Stansted for 12 years and feel they are not in the wrong with regard to the dispute over the tender process. This may be the case, but to sell tickets to unsuspecting customers is truly heinous.

Customers have reported missing flights and connections, and with the travel time listed on the website telling travelers the journey is 55 minutes when in reality, with the connection the journey is twice that. They have also reported that they were not notified until they were at the drop off point and it has resulted in scenes of chaos and upset customers.

Terravision has stated that they have arranged a deal for transfers with Stansted Citylink. Stansted officials tell customers to use Citylink directly, National Express, or Airport Bus Express, as these are the bus lines that have won contracts with Stansted.

Terravision feels that Stansted is not offering customers choice with whom they want to ride with to Stansted Airport; but they have filed paperwork to regain access to Stansted Airport. They have also filed suit against Stansted saying they are abusing their dominant position under the 1998 Competition Act and restricting competition to the detriment of customers.
